Strictly Education will lead proceedings on the inaugural National School Governors’ Awareness Day

Supporting Education partners Strictly Education are founding supporters of next week’s inaugural National School Governors’ Awareness Day. Taking place on 22 February, this event will bring schools together to celebrate the vital contributions that governors and trustees make to UK education.

England’s 300,000 governorships constitute the largest single group of volunteers in the world. Strictly Education is joining forces with a range of other organisations to raise the profile of governorship in the nation’s communities and inform them on what the role of a governor involves.

Strictly Education and its partners are calling on all school governors to take part in proceedings by submitting a 90-second video about their work. Headteachers are also invited to join in the celebrations by sending their governors a free, personalised eCard, thanking them for the difference they make.

In the run up to the event, Strictly Education has collected governors’ testimonies on issues like the effects of the pandemic on school governance, plus concerns around school staff wellbeing and workload.

On the day itself, Strictly Education will be presenting these insights, and more, through a series of free webinars for all those involved or interested in school governance. Attendees can book their places here.

Supporting Education is proud to see its partners spearheading the creation of what we expect to become an important annual fixture in the education calendar.
